A printed book is a wonderfully simple way to capture memories. It doesn't require any technology. It's completely portable. Anyone can read it.

The typical published biography or memoir can be up to 300 pages complete with photographs. When printed, it's presented as a high quality, trade paperback that can certainly withstand a good day at the beach and being passed around to family and friends. It can also be presented in an ebook format such as Amazon's Kindle.

Ordering additional copies is easy - the biography will be available online through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and our publisher. The price for each printed copy of the book is based upon a number of factors, including length and the number of graphic images within the text.

The completed biography is also assigned an ISBN (International Standard Book Number), a machine-readable 10-digit number that uniquely identifies the finished book for retailers and libraries. An eBook (Kindle, for example) format is also available.

The completed biography is also submitted to the Library of Congress so that future historians could use it for original research.

With the completed biography in hand, you have several options:

  • Order copies for just your family and friends.
  • Let your family and friends order copies on their own.
  • Actively market your book to yield revenue and possibly get the attention of traditional, mass-market publishers.
  • Post an electronic version here at Biographyworkshop.com.
  • Post an eBook version that can be sold like a printed book but viewed on a digital reader or a computer.

Gathering all the necessary information to complete a biography also includes the following:

  • Completed "Life Lists" of important people and events in the subject's life.

  • A complete time line diagram that displays the chronology of the subject's life within the overall context of American social history.

  • A series of digitally recorded interviews where the subject uses his or her words to tell the life story. These interviews can be downloaded and played on any MP3 player.

Each one of these is a valuable way to present a life story. Our fee structure is incrementally based on creating each.

Depending on the fee for the biography, you could earn revenue for each biography sold as a published book. (royalties are paid quarterly)

Through our publisher, we can help you market the completed biography.

Also, your biography might attract the attention of mass market publishers. Should this happen, the revenue could be substantial.
