Life List Example
The life lists help the memoir writer organize his or her life so that an accurate time line can then be created. The examples don't include all the lists because lists are different for each client. The Life Lists by themselves are also a valuable way to present the facts and chronology of a person's life.

Time Line Example
The time line is used to graphically present the chronology of a person's life. As these time lines can be quite long and detailed, the example is much more simplified and abbreviated.

Interview Example
Once the life lists and time lines are completed, it's time for a structured interview. The example is from the Veteran's History Project using a digital voice recorder. Structured interviews can be fully edited if requested.

Biography/Memoir Example
This is the first chapter (draft) of a biography. As you read this first chapter, note how historical facts are woven into the fabric of the story. History has a direct impact on peoples' lives. Also note how quotes from the subject are used to let readers "hear" her own voice. Rather than just a simple telling of the facts, the reader can feel the subject with her own evocative words.
